PENNSYLVANIA - PHILADELPHIA - November 11, 1987

Philadelphia also contained some noteworthy works of art. The first one I came across was Robert Indiana's colorful "LOVE" sculpture form 1964. Following that, Claes Oldenburg's oversized "Clothes Pin" came into view.

By far, though, the most significant piece of workmanship I encountered was the renowned "Liberty Bell", one of America's most precious symbols. In fact, it was quick shocking as to how accessible it was. Seeing it was certainly a treat.

On top of these, the downtown area was filled with other statues and creative artifacts. I will have to return some day to explore the city in more detail.

Of course, I must also mention the other item that repeatedly caught my attention concerning Philadelphia's downtown region. That was the always flocking clusters of pigeons. They seemed to be everywhere. And I thought they were a nuisance in Chicago!
