Time began to grow short as my return to the Midwest approached. Eventually, the day came when I had to say goodbye to the wacky and wonderful friends I had made while residing at the Pacific Beach international youth hostel. For those of you who are curious, the hostel has some great rates and you meet all sorts of people from all over the world. All you have to do is be prepared to re-enter the lifestyle you once had as a college student living in a dorm. I would mention the names of some of my friends under their photos, but I got the distinct impression most of them wanted to keep a low profile for one reason or another. Nonetheless, it was certainly fun getting to know these travelers and hear their stories and plans for the future. For example, on one evening, an individual spent several hours explaining the Uniform Commercial Code to me and something called UCC-1-207. Go look it up. You might be surprised! |
