| CALIFORNIA - SAN DIEGO - October 20, 2003
Another good thing that happened on trip number 4 was that I needed to pass through San Diego. I was supposed to do a photo shoot there, but it was cancelled, so I used to time to go through my storage locker and visit friends. First, I went over to the hostel I stayed at previously in San Diego to see if my new friend and musician Jeremy was still hanging around the neighborhood. Sure enough he was and was still working at the cafe across the street. So we caught up on everything that had happened in the neighborhood since I left and he played me a few of his most recent songs. I particularly liked "30 Days In The Bowl", a blues tune about one of those round blue toilet bowl fresheners. Later I went up to La Jolla and had dinner with Zach and his girlfriend Debbie. Zach has a radio show at one of the local universities and burned me a whole bunch of blues mp3's before I took off for the Midwest. Thanks Zach! While in La Jolla, I stayed with friends Bonnie and Julian (not shown) in the wonderful new condo they had just purchased and moved into. Lots of great new furniture. Thanks Bonnie and Julian for the hospitality. Finally, since winter is approaching, I was able to retrieve all of my cold-weather coats and clothing from storage and ship them back to Kansas City. Now I won't freeze. |
