FLORIDA - DAYTONA - August 02, 2003

Daytona Beach's famous boardwalk has always been considered a tourist playground. As long as I can recall it has offered up stimulating rides and games to keep the public amused. In typical fashion, the entertainment complex has added a number of the most recently popular extreme rides, to compliment its tamer, more traditional ones.

At left you can see the newest addition, a propellor-like device that sends passengers high into the air on the end of a lengthy arm. Not fully seen, is a slightly older contraption that uses two sets of bungee cords to catapult riders into the air, much like a giant slingshot. Its two giant towers are just visible in the top image.

Below that, people can be seen enjoying the more stable and down-to-earth go kart track.
