| ILLINOIS - CHICAGO - October 05, 2003
On my way back from Pennsylvania, I had to shoot a portrait in Lake Villa, IL and following that simple exercise, drove into Chicago to visit with various friends. As has been the case on many occasions, I stayed with my close friend and gracious hostess, CJ, who once worked with me in the late 80's at an advertising agency. As I departed Chicago, I took a route that led me down Lake Shore Drive. As I passed Soldier Field stadium where the Bears play football, I was shocked to see a large modern structure nestled inside its familiar classic form. It looked as though a giant UFO had landed there and seemed extremely out of place. I suppose it's functional, but it seems really strange at first glance. |
