Uncle Tom evidently loved Yosemite. He seemed to visit it frequently, although that might have had something to do with its proximity to Westwood, CA where some relatives lived. According to his writings, Tom went to Yosemite in both 1947 and 1950. But, he was probably in the neighborhood in '48 and '49 as well. Photo 2 - "(left arrow) Hwy 89. Hwy 187. US 26.
