January 09, 2008 - I just received an e-mail from Peter Alesso alerting me to a new book he and Professor Craig F. Smith authored entitled Connections: Patterns of Discovery.

Mr. Burke penned the book's forward. An excerpt - "In their fascinating analysis of the recent history of information technology, Peter Alesso and Craig Smith reveal the patterns in discovery and innovation that have brought us to the present tipping point... A generation from now every individual will have personally-tailored access to the whole of knowledge... The sooner we all begin to think about how we got here, and where we're going, the better. This exciting book is an essential first step."

October 18, 2007 - BIG NEWS!!! - A fan e-mailed in to notify me that a number of James Burke clips have appeared on YouTube. These span the range of his programs from early days to the latest material. Rare stuff, indeed. Items that people have been requesting to see for years. I don't know how long these segments will stay on YouTube (due to copyright violation), so I suggest you go there now for a look. Enjoy seeing James in his earlier days. Also, some programs are in Spanish.

When you arrive at YouTube, do a search for "James Burke", or one of this many program titles.

April 12, 2006 - Activity on the James Burke site has been relatively quiet over the last two or three years, so I am taking this opportunity to do a little house-cleaning before the next big wave hits.

Currently, Mr. Burke is in the middle of writing another "Connections-style" book. Also, his Knowledge Web project continues to undergo development. I will let you know when both of these items become available for public consumption. In the mean time, you may be able to catch James at one of his infrequent speaking engagements.

That's it for now. Please continue to write in as comments and question occur to you. Sincerely, Tom Palmer
