| ARIZONA - LAKE HAVASU - April 17, 2004
Saturday, we got up early and put the boat back in the water. Our plan was to spend the day hanging out along the shore of the Lake Havasu canal. To do that, we needed to stake out a spot on the beach before the crowd arrived and made that impossible. Initially, we trolled the entire length of the canal looking for people Don might happen to know. Doubling back, Don indeed found some pals parked along the shore. So, we pull up beside them and spent the rest of the day talking, drinking beers and watching the rest of the boaters go by. Not a bad way to spend a sunny April afternoon. We did, however, had to apply a generous portion of sun block to keep from frying alive. As the day wore on, more and more boaters wedged their way into empty slots along the canal. Eventually all the available holes were filled and there was nothing left for the remaining boaters to do but glide endlessly past and wave hello. |
