CALIFORNIA - SAN DIEGO - April 10, 2004

As far as downtown living goes, San Diego architects have apparently gone crazy ( - in a good way). The downtown area is filled with all sorts of wild new fresh designs for condos and apartments. A lot of these places are influenced by an eccentric red and purple, wedge-shaped pair of buildings designed by Rob Wellington Quigley before the building boom set in. The wedge motif now seems to be one of San Diego's signature styles. But that is no means the case for every residential structure in downtown San Diego. There are plenty of other fun and fanciful styles to enjoy.
