| INDIANA - I-80 - February 29, 2004
Wow! The west I-80 Indiana welcome center. One of the most interesting and eclectic structures I've come across to date. Man, is this an eye-catcher. According to the folks that mind this welcome station, the state had a bit of cash to throw at this project. Evidently, the elements of its design are meant to reflect the various aspects of the state, the farm silo, the steel mills, the lakeshore dunes, etc... Inside there is a large open hall filled with displays explaining the international cultures that many of Indiana's cities are based on. It's a very nice and accommodating place. Pay it a visit if you have some spare time. |
