A few days before I was scheduled to drive to Colorado, I awoke to find a thick, white cushion of snow on the patio furniture. As delightful as this was to behold, I could only hope that it would disappear before my travels westward actually started. Fortunately, over the next few days, the snow covering I-70, and the infinite stretches of prairie farmland along side, was reduced to a light frosting.
