| MISSOURI - ST. LOUIS - March 14, 2004
On my way home back to Kansas City, I stopped to take some pictures of the major buildings in downtown St. Louis. It was an early Sunday morning and the streets were filled with the remains of a pre-St. Patricks Day parade. I tried to find a parking spot that would allow me easy walking access to views of the taller buildings. That wasn't easy. Finding a decent vantage point seemed to be a real problem. Something was always in the way. After a while, I located the best points I could and clicked away. Aside from St. Louis' other talked-about aspects (the Arch and the Mississippi River, etc...), I find its architecture to have its own unique elegance. It seems to be very refined. And even though the city is a sophisticated place full of great shopping spots and tasty restaurants, I have never had a real urge to go visit. |
