MISSOURI - KANSAS CITY - March 17, 2004

It had been a while since I attended a good St. Patricks Day parade. That being said, Kansas City has one of the best and the largest, with over 400,000 people in attendance. Of course, most, if not all, of these fine folks are clad in green. Those not wearing quite as much green are usually wearing kilts and playing bagpipes, so everything is OK. There's not much to worry about. It's all a big party, one that most people can't seem to pass up. Although a few do seem to pass out after visiting the Irish bars in Westport.

I guess there are only so many ways to appear Irish on St. Patricks Day, because the same ones keep showing up year after year. It's just the people beneath the costumes that change.
