| OHIO - TOLEDO - March 02, 2004
After finishing my photo shoot in Plymouth, I got back on I-80 and started exploring Ohio. Directly beneath Detroit was Toledo. Again, this was not a city that had much to offer visually, but there was the Owens-Corning complex and it's large curved red logo. The Owens-Corning facility features a number of geometrically-shaped buildings (boxes, cylinders, etc...) and uses a three-dimensional model of its corporate symbol as its focal point and entrance. In Toledo, the OC complex stood out as far and away the most innovative structure I could find. Down the riverfront a bit also stood COSI, Toledo's Science Center. COSI had a nice modern facility, which I would have liked to have examined had it been open. Around the COSI building were statues of people in various poses. The one along the edge of the river was particularly thoughtful. |
