| VIRGINIA - FREDERICKSBURG - March 04, 2004
Fredericksburg is one of those colonial towns that has a lot of significance to early American history, although I did not know that when I showed up at its door. That important information was quickly conveyed to me by my photographic subjects. They highly recommended that I take a self-guided tour of Fredericksburg in my spare time, which I did. There were a number of historic spots where this or that happened. And there were plenty of old relics scattered about. At one point, we even drove past the house George Washington was born in. Mostly, I looked upon Fredericksburg as a nice, comfortable old village with pretty much the right amount of things to keep a resident happy. The cafes were charming and I managed to get one heck of a great tuna-melt sandwich. We also went to a local spot, the Hard Times Cafe, that featured a wide selection of chili recipes. They even brought us out a sampler tray. Yum! |
