| GEORGIA - ATLANTA - April 15, 2005
I still had a few days before I was scheduled to arrive in Fredericksburg. This gave me plenty of time to find interesting roadside attractions as I casually made my way North up Interstate 85. I decided a great thing to do would be to stop in Atlanta and take a closer look. The last time I had been here was on a trip to Florida in 1997. Then, as with most trips in the past, I had only given myself an hour or so to take a quick peek. This time, I would have the whole day to explore. Atlanta seems to be a relatively sophisticated city. During the 1990's it experinced a tremendous economic boom, much like Dallas had a decade earlier. As a result a number of eye-catching skyscrapers had been constructed downtown. These were one of the first things I wanted to see, so I found my way to the central business district and weaved back and forth on Atlanta's busy one-way streets, craning my head up towrds the sky. |
