GEORGIA - ATLANTA - April 15, 2005

In 1996, Atlanta hosted the Summer Olympic games. This brought a number of improvements and additions to the city's layout. In preparing for the event, the city built a number of iconic structures and a large downtown park to commemorate the competition. Following my time at CNN Center, I visited the adjacent park, and then took note of a few final sites of interest.

On this day, a small crowd of citizens were milling about the park. A few of them had stopped to relax in front of the automated, ground level fountain which was putting on its choreographed show. Behind me was a rather oddly-shaped establishment with a prominent clock. The hours had been ticking by and it was now time to go.

I took one last cruise down Atlanta's primary boulevard, circling a block once to spy at the local art museum. It was then off to the freeway and the suburbs where I would spend the night.
