| KENTUCKY - FRANKFORT - April 22, 2005
I was beginning to think that this trip was turning into a tour of the state capitols. I guess I was now on a quest to photograph as many state capitol buildings as possible. So, when Frankfort appeared on my route, I was magnetically reeled in. There were a great many signs directing me to the capitol complex. When I arrived, I found a colorful path filled with red and yellow tulips (yes, more tulips) leading to the state house entrance. Finishing with the capitol, I made my way downtown. There I discovered a long modern building that immediately caught my eye. Actually, it seemed quite out of place in this otherwise traditional looking community. Not knowing what it was, I got out and photographed it from one end to the other. It was really neat. As I was finishing up, an employee left the building and crossed my path. He asked what I was up to and told me this was a newly constructed government agency of some sort. Unexpectedly, he then invited me up to the top floor where I could get a view of the city below. Actually, I think his underlying motivation was to record me on the security cameras. Nonetheless, the view from on high was great. Being a good public servant, he also listed a number of the city's features I should take in before leaving. Mostly, he insisted that I go and visit the local graveyard to see where Danial Boone was buried. |
