| OKLAHOMA - OKLAHOMA CITY - April 04, 2005
Next, I decided to go explore Oklahoma City's downtown landscape. Here, I found a pleasant mix of both new and old structures. There were several classic stone towers strewn amongst a collection of recently constructed modern facilities, each varying in size, shape and material. Oklahoma City seemed to have an urban core that was keeping pace with the rest of the world, while hanging on to some of it's nicer historical elements. I was so taken up with what was before me, that it never occured to me to go find the site of that terrible bombing. It was only after I had left that I wished I had looked for some sort of marker or memorial. I'll have to go in search of that during my next Oklahoma encounter. |
