| VIRGINIA - FREDERICKSBURG / CHARLOTTESVILLE / WAYNESBORO - April 20, 2005
Before leaving Fredericksburg, I took a swing down through its history-filled core. Oddly enough, it wasn't until I did this that I realized I had been here before. On my previous shoot, I had evidently stayed and worked in another part of town. Now that I was in familiar territory, everything began to fit into place. As I had time, I went to a few new areas, one of which was the local cemetary. You've gotta know that a place as old as Fredericksburg was bound to have some interesting tombstones. It did. But time was slipping by and I needed to get on the road. I wasted not another minute and hopped on I-64 going West. I passed through Charlottesville and stopped to look for the entrance to Jefferson's Monticello residence. It was closed, so I kept on going. Along the way, I debated with myself as to whether or not I should go back and see this remarkable site. A number of friends had suggested going there, saying it was well worth the trip. I decided to cruise on up the road a few more miles and spend the night at Waynesboro. I would then make my decision after getting a good nights sleep. |
