After lunch, I went in search of where Brian and Martha's wedding would be held. Following the official map, I came across a small stone chapel a few miles up the highway. There, I was told the wedding party had assembled at different location where they were in the process of getting ready. A short distance away sat a more contemporary structure. Having air conditioning and an assortment of other comforts, this worship hall was just the place to prepare. Here it was I found the members of the wedding party getting dressed in anticipation of the ceremony and being photographed. Later, having changed clothing myself, I drove back to the chapel in an effort to get a good parking spot and take pictures as participants arrived. It was a relatively warm day and the little chapel was without a cooling system. Everyone had to rely on fans and open windows. Nonetheless, the experience was completely tolerable. Over the course of a half hour, wedding guests arrived and took their seats. In turn, the families, groomsmen and bridemaids lined up and strolled down the aisle towards the alter. As they waited to enter, you could see the nervous anticipation written on their faces. Making a commitment to proceed, the bride and groom composed themselves as they moved towards their destiny. |
