Reaching our destination, we discovered a dinner buffet waiting for us to consume. Once filling ourselves with food, drink and dessert, most of the crowd mingled about until the DJ started playing music. At that point a large portion of the crowd started to dance. Others visited the game arcade and the two movie-themed attractions: Twister, and Revenge of the Mummy. A few of us checked out the Twister show, which was relatively mild, yet interesting. Kevin and Georgia took a shot at the Mummy ride. Most people claimed to really enjoy it, but Kevin emerged white as a sheet. While this was going on, I wandered down to the end of one street and chatted with an older security guard who shared his life story with me. A large portion of his tale regarded owning a bagel shop in Connecticut. After a couple of hours of socializing, the evening ended with a fantastic Blues Brothers rendition. The entertainers were excellent with their performances of classic Blues Brothers tunes. It was a great way to conclude the party. The next night we returned to Universal's Citywalk area to dine and hear a number of tribute band performaces in various cafes. The evening ended with a concert by Creedence Clearwater Revisited, which contained several of the founding CCR musicians. They sounded as good as, if not better than, the original. |
