| IOWA - SIGOURNEY / FAIRFIELD - April 20, 2006
While I was in Fairfield and Sigourney, I attempted to capture a small taste of each community. I enjoyed a brief respite at the Sigourney town square while I patiently waiting for the sun to illuminate a bank. Passing time, I went inside the central courthouse building and poked around. The structure was actually quite elegant. You could look up towards the dome and see a lot of craftsmanship at work. The one thing that caught my eye in the courthouse interior was a display of Native American arrowheads and stone axes. Some of these were arranged into the pattern of an Indian silhouette. It was an impressive collection. In Fairfield, I managed to photograph a little bit of the local architecture and some colorful railway cars parked near the highway. |
