FLORIDA - DAYTONA BEACH - October 19, 2007

One of the items on my travel agenda, while living in Florida, was to experience Bike Week in Daytona. Prior to that event, I recently got a taste of motorcycle madness during the city's "Biketoberfest" celebration.

Like Sturgis, this limited duration event brought hundreds, if not thousands, of bikers to the Daytona shores. As I entered the city, I noticed plenty of happy motorists randomly cruising the streets, doing whatever it is that motorcyclists do.

As I passed Daytona Speedway, there seemed to be a big event going on, put I kept on moving, eager to see the real action downtown. Arriving at the entrance to the Main Street strip, I was not disappointed. For blocks, the thoroughfare was lined with two-wheeled vehicles of all kinds, colors and configurations. Between these columns passed a continuous stream of slowly moving riders, parading their coveted machines for all to observe.

Next came the hard part -- finding a place to park.
