FLORIDA - LAKELAND - January 06, 2008
A subsequent day trip with Myron took us over to Lakeland. Myron had been going on and on about the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings at the Florida Southern College campus, so we went for a look. The main thing Myron was interested in seeing was a fountain called the "Aquadome". Evidently, this was a structure that Wright had originally planned for, but for some reason it was only put into operation recently. Having watched the Aquadome perform, we continued to roam the campus and look at the many facilities Wright had designed. They were unique and unmistakable, each bearing Wright's trademark style. Finishing up, we went on a driving tour of Lakeland itself and noted its signature swans and painted swan sculptures. |
