FLORIDA - CLEARWATER BEACH - February 02, 2008
Crossing a waterway overpass, Myron and I finally arrived at Clearwater Beach. Due to an immense amount of construction, our vehicle was immediately diverted to a back road. Myron had a lot of positive things to say about Clearwater Beach and indicated it was becoming more and more of a world-class destination. As we spoke, a major new hotel was being erected, along with a stylish beachfront walkway. Treading the beach, and then the prominade, we soon found ourselves by the mouth of Clearwater's promient fishing pier. This structure provided a perch from which we could survey the beach, so we wandered out to it's end, passing a number of souvenir vendors along the way. The view from the pier was outstanding. It allowed us to observe the beach in both directions for a considerable distance. From our elevated position we got a clear view of the crashing waves, relaxing beachcombers, circling birds and impressive highrises. |
